Totally Tourism Ltd is one of New Zealand’s leading tourism enterprises. Totally Tourism was established in 1999 and currently operates The Helicopter Line, Glacier Helicopters, Harris Mountains Heli-Ski, Milford Sound Scenic Flights, Milford Sound Flights, Mitre Peak Cruises, Challenge Rafting, Queenstown Combos and Totally Tourism Direct.   

We have a rare opportunity available for an energetic and passionate individual to lead our customer service team in Milford Sound for Mitre Peak Cruises. Operating for over 19 years, Mitre Peak Cruises has lead the way in small, scenic cruises of the spectacular sound which is considered one of the beautiful places in the world.  Our excellent staff have been providing our customers an up close and personal experience.

This role will be challenging, diverse and very rewarding for the right applicant.  Applicants must demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and customer service skills together with the ability to focus on safety, standards and systems.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Leading the office staff to ensure all they align with the company’s core values and work together as a team to ensure successful running of the organisation.
  • Complete recruitment, performance management, training and coaching for the office team. 
  • Managing business operations, daily cruise logistics, safety and emergency procedures, financial management and results. 
  • Build relationships with all customers and external clients. 
  • Encourage a culture based on exceeding the customers’ expectations at all times. 
  • Develop a team of staff that have good job satisfaction, are motivated and highly professional with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Providing excellent customer service at all times. 
  • Delivering operational excellence, financial, safety and quality targets are established. 

Key requirements:

  • At least one year experience managing or supervising a team. 
  • Past experience in the maritime or tourism environment. 
  • The ability to keep calm in a busy high pressure environment. 
  • Experience in a safety sensitive role. 
  • The ability to develop business critical relationships. 
  • Be respected as an excellent leader and develop a customer focused, profitable business is essential.
